Part 1: Starting the Request Process
Log In: Log in to your N3XT account.
Navigate to Programmable Payments: In the main left-hand navigation menu, click "Programmable."
Create New Payment: In the top right corner of the screen, click the button that reads "Create New Programmable Payment."
Select Action: A prompt will ask for your intent. Select the option: "I want to receive a payment."
Part 2: Defining the Contract and Payer
Select Payer: Under the "Request From" field, select the contact or business from whom you are requesting the payment. You may choose from the search bar or select from the contacts listed under "Select from frequent contacts."
Add Description: In the "Payment description" field, enter a brief description detailing the reason for the payment (e.g., "Invoice #456 for Consulting Services"). This description will be visible to your payer.
Continue: Click "Continue" to proceed.
Part 3: Finalizing and Sending the Request
Input Amount: Enter the specific Payment amount you are requesting.
Select Receiving Wallet: Use the dropdown menu to select the wallet you wish to receive the funds into.
Review and Continue: Click "Continue."
Review Confirmation Dialogue: A dialogue box will appear with the transaction details and the following message: "Once [Payer Contact] accepts the Programmable Pay request, the payment amount will be held in a secure lockbox until delivery of goods or services is confirmed, or both parties cancel."
Send Contract: Click "Confirm contract details" to finalize the request and send the Programmable Payment contract to your contact for their review and acceptance.
What Happens Next?
The request will move to the payer's "Requests" module.
Once the payer accepts the contract, the payment amount is immediately transferred from their account to the secure Lockbox.
The funds are held in the Lockbox until the contract terms are fulfilled.
The payer must then approve the transaction release to transfer the funds from the Lockbox into your N3XT wallet.
